The
Shankaracharya episode is an eye opener to the citizen of India. Are the
Indian citizens secure in this country?
Consider this:
1) A person is arrested without charges. That is before
chargesheet is filed and investigations are complete. [Purely on the
basis of unfounded malicious suspicion based on electoral politics hoping
to get the 'secular' vote -> surely this happens only in India]
2) The arrested person is forced into a 'trial by media'. The
investigating agency claims it has strong evidence [of course, they 'say'
they have evidence, they do not 'show' it to anybody]. The secular media
(a newspaper called the 'hindu' and a tv channel called 'ndtv') take it as
their personal duty and 'secular birthright' to tarnish the image of the
person by selectively publishing information. The police claim to have
videographed a confession [the audio and video in it are not synchronous]
and leak it to media. Of course they know the video is not admissible as
evidence in court. But they are not interested in gathering evidence –
they want to make unsubstantiated allegations.
3) Police claim a woman relationship angle to tarnish the image of the
person. The 'secular' media make conclusions as they know of only one
relationship between a man and woman. It turns out that the woman is a
cancer patient who has undergone chemotherapy 100+ times and was being
helped by the mutt. The police drop the story. But the damage to
reputation (baseless mudslinging) has been done.
4) The magistrate court magistrate refuses bail, so does sessions court
and high court. After 60 days in jail (arrested without
charges and subjected to a trial by media), the highest court of the land,
the Honourable Supreme Court of India grants bail. The supreme court says
there is 'no prima facie' evidence and wonders what the police said. The
police initially said money was drawn from an ICICI account but there was
no ICICI account in the mutt.
5) The same day that the person is released, his junior is arrested.
Journalists like Gurumurthy who wrote on behalf of the person are
interrogated. Hats off to the "Indian Express" for "journalism of
courage". in the English media it along with “Pioneer” were the
only two newspapers that were unbiased in reporting.
6) Witnesses retract confessions made to the police as they were done as a
result of extreme torture [of course investigation is difficult, what do
they do - beat up – easiest thing to do. Beat anybody up and of course he
will confess]. In a perfect case of intimidation and frustration, police
foist goonda act on the mutt manager who is a university gold medallist
having served in RBI. Persons arrested under this act cannot get bail for
3 months. Such draconian acts in the hands of unscrupulous people will
spell disaster for the country
7) There is no prima facie case. Check these links;
http://sankaracharyaarticles.blogspot.com [This site is a translation
of tamil newspaper articles. They are 10000 times more accurate than the
secular English newspapers] and
www.kanchi-sathya.org [official site of Kanchi mutt] for detailed
information.
Mudslinging and foisting false cases on a great seer is not good for the
country and its people. It is the duty of the people to protest. As in the
Indian Vedic history, "truth alone will win". The sooner it wins in
Kaliyug, the better.
Lastly, let us think for a moment: If this can happen to His Holiness, the
Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi, how secure is the common citizen of
the country like you and me?
