Rape cannot happen in Bharat: British media’s Bias
It is a case of ‘Shame for the British’ that even after exploiting India for 200 years, creating man made famines killing millions, ruthless killings and destructions during any uprising against its evil rule over India, British for the last 60 years are engaged in massive propaganda campaign against India. The coverage of the case of a rape and murder of a medical student in New Delhi demonstrates that the British media is trying to prove the culture and religion of India, coupled with complete indifference of the civil, law enforcement, judicial and other aspects of society have made rape and assult against women rampant and unchecked. It is trying to prove the superirity of the British culture and the ‘White Man’s Burden’ it took to civilize India, which after its departure fell down to a hell.
However, the British media at the same time ignores the defect of its own society. In the UK, according to the British Crime Survey, approximately 80,000 women are raped a year. Approximately one in ten of these rapes are reported. There is a conviction rate of only 6.5%. The Wall Street Journal wrote that in India just over a quarter of alleged rapists are convicted; in the US however only 24% of alleged rapes even result in an arrest, never mind a conviction. According to the New York Times: “That almost one in five women have been raped in their lifetime is … that 188,380 Americans were victims of sexual violence in 2010-11. In a study of American male college students [ Rapaport, Karen R. and C. Dale Posey. Sexually Coercive College Males. Acquaintance Rape: The Hidden Crime, edited by Andrea Parrot]:
1) 43% of college-aged men admitted to using coercive behavior to have sex, including ignoring a woman’s protest, using physical aggression, and forcing intercourse.
2) 15% acknowledged they had committed acquaintance rape; 11% acknowledged using physical restraints to force a woman to have sex.
The British media so far has published at least 30 articles on the same topic of the rape and murder in New Delhi. However, it has ignored a recent rape, in Steubenville, Ohio, of a 16-year-old girl – allegedly by members of the high-school football team. The case is that the young woman was dragged, drunk and unresponsive, from party to party, where she was sexually abused. This American rape case pales against what’s happening in southern Italy, where a young girl was forced into becoming a sex slave for half the village for over three years. The name of the victim is Anna Maria Scarfò. There are also the case of the BBC’s celebrity Jimmy Saville who has allegedly raped more 300 children. Gangs grooming children for sex in Britain was reported in several cities.
In the UK each year males rape approximately 80,000 women and each year only 6% of them are convicted. In Britain 2 women a week die at the hands of their partners, many more are abused and tortured but the events are hardly reported upon let alone protested against . Innumerable rape cases are dismissed by British Crown Prosecution Service because CPS claims there is insufficient evidence. Judges throw away rapes conducted by the British soldiers because that can damage their career.
Rape is one of the most common forms of women’s subjugation and humiliation practised by male culture in most places around the world today, not just in India, and yet USA, Australia, and Britain seem to escape such critical scrutiny.
Here are some statistics about incidents of rape in different countries. The figures are per hundred thousand of population. Australia 91.9, Sweden 63.5, USA 27.3, UK 28.8, Norway 19.2, France 16.2, Mexico 13.2, Bangladesh 10.13, Germany 9.4 and India 1.8.
British media conveniently ignored these cases, to prove their racial superiority. The coverage of this case in the British media has turned into a smug self righteous India bashing fest with racist and religiously bigoted tones. The fact that men and women came out in the thousands protesting against this crime in New Delhi is what defines the spirit of the country.
That spirit comes not from India, the name given by the British, but from Bharat, the ancient name of India in Sanskrit, reflecting the traditional culture and religion. These tradition calls for respect for women, sacrifice, brevity, tolerance, self sufficiency and sharing joys and sorrows with each other. Krishna in Bhagwat Gita said, “ Greed, lust, and violence are the three gates of hell; shut those gates”. Bharat believes in totalitarian system of government, where people can depend upon the government for everything from cradle to the cremation ground. Its idealism is to create a ‘socialistic pattern of society’, promoted by the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru.
Since 1990 along with capitalistic economic reform, discarding the traditional ideas, India on the other hand believes in ‘every man is for himself, ‘greed is good’, and theory of Adam Smith that selfishness automatically ensure social welfare. India is reflected in the Indian film industry, which is now taken over recently by all kinds of foreigners, Pakistanis, Mussalmans, and even porno stars from Canada. Its language is Urdu, the national language of Pakistan; its contents are full of gross sexual acts and graphic details of violence. The results are rape and sexual assaults on women and increasing violence in the society. That is the reason, a politicians Mohan Bhagwat said, ‘Rape happens in India, not in Bharat’. Those who still believe in the traditional ideals, cannot commit rape because it is against their values based on the religion of the Bharat. Now, this Bharat is protesting against these assaults on women in India, when the British are still doing their job of maligning Bharat to show how disgusting country it is.
